With this podcast we are getting into the September/October issue of FrontLine which had the theme, “Using Your Words: Glorifying God with Language.” This issue of the magazine is full of helpful articles and we will be talking to a few of our authors to give you a bit more than they had time for in the magazine.
Today’s conversation is with Ryan Martin, pastor of Columbiaville Baptist Church in Columbiaville, Michigan. Ryan is a good friend in an online sort of way and a faithful minister of the gospel.
Ryan’s article is called “Every Idle Word.” The discussion leads us to sober self-examination about the things we say. I think I should say at the outset that we are not saying you must never speak about trivia or seemingly insignificant topics. That’s not the point of our Lord when he spoke about it and it isn’t Ryan’s point in his article either.
What we do mean is that Christian growth means growth in the way we talk to one another and as we speak on behalf of the Lord. I think you will find our discussion very helpful.
Before we get to the interview, let me remind you that Ryan’s article is available on our substack right away for paying subscribers. We have previews for everyone else. I hope you will join with us and support the ministry of the FBFI by becoming a paying subscriber.
