My Guest Speaker is Dr. Kimia Shakerpoor     

Dr. Kimia Shakerpoor decided to enter the healing profession at the age  of 13 when her grandmother's health issues left her feeling frustrated  and powerless. While a pre-med undergraduate, during a chiropractor's  presentation, her life's purpose was revealed to her in a single  illuminating flash.     Attracted by the paradigm of holistically treating the entire person  rather than using pharmaceuticals to focus on treating a pain or a  disease or a symptom, just two months before graduation she switched  from enrolling in med school to chiropractic.     

Motivated by the knowledge that when a person feels well, they function  better and have more confidence inside and out, her signature approach  is nurturing and cognizant of the whole person, asking How are YOU?  rather than How is your PAIN? She is a deep listener, enjoys teaching  her patients, a gift that also shows itself in her sideline as a  weight-lifting and personal training coach.
