Dance is a way to reclaim the space of your body when that space has been taken from you. It is a way for you to heal. It's a way for you to acknowledge your power, to get back into your body when you've had to disassociate from it to survive.
Alma Dance founder Heather Robles stopped by the Travelogue Media studio in Quetzaltenango during her Guatemala trip with Suzzanne Ponomarenko Dance. She spoke about working with Caras Alegres and Hogar Temporal, the healing powers of dance, and her experience as a birth doula.
Lago Atitlan
Heather also spoke about her connection with Lago de Atitlan. "I'm thinking about the people who have existed there always... For me it's a very easy place to be able to connect and listen"
