Sonia Martinez moved from Puerto Rico to Brooklyn at the age of 9, and has been living in New York City for the past 60+ years. In this interview, she talks about her romantic relationships, introduction to hormones, family ties, and her experience with depression. She shares vivid memories of nights out at the Gilded Grape, La Escuelita, Sally's and more; interactions with the Black Panther Party; and working with her grandmother in the factory.
