Apologies for the delay in releasing this our latest episode. We hope you all had a great Christmas and start to the new year! In our first episode of 2020, we bring you an interview with Steve Dodds, head of Friction & Forge Processes at TWI based in Cambridge, U.K.Steve educated us on 'friction stir welding' which is a solid-state joining process that uses frictional heat generated by a rotating tool to join materials. This is a process used in many applications but interestingly it is used on all modern space rockets, and also more importantly to us, on electric vehicles when the battery enclosure is manufactured. We are sure you will learn a lot from this episode. If there are any other subjects you would like us to cover or guests you would like us to interview please let us know via our website, or on any of our social media pages. We would love to hear from you!If you enjoyed this episode, please take a minute to subscribe to the show, and show us some love by rating our podcast so that others with the same love of EV technology can find our show.Links:TWI website: https://www.twi-global.com/Steve's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/scdodds/TWI YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVyzolRz8436963AmklQM4QLarge scale Friction Stir Welding - TWI: www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7rCTdxvGlg What Is Friction Stir Welding?: www.twi-global.com/technical-knowledge/faqs/faq-what-is-friction-stir-weldingWhat Is Refill Friction Stir Spot Welding?: www.twi-global.com/media-and-events/insights/what-is-refill-friction-stir-spot-weldingRyan Maughan LinkedIn profile - https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryan-maughan-a2893610/eTech website - https://www.etech49.com Follow eTech49 on social media: LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/etech49-limitedTwitter - https://twitter.com/acexryan
