Founded by four boyhood friends, the club was a flashpoint in cultural history, surviving gangs, drugs, the L.A. Riots, plus growing violence in the music and culture. This chronicle is also a coming of age story for its boyhood founders, and for rap itself. As the music changed, the club ‘blew-up’ beyond it’s original underground roots. Now, the founders would struggle with money, new fame, and old demons, ignited by the trappings of their success.
