Ash is an emerging fashion designer based in Perth, Australia. She was born in Zimbabwe and grew up in Ipswich, UK, where she developed a love for fashion design. Ash's inspiration comes from her mother, who studied textile design at university, and she modeled her mother's final year designs as a child. This sparked her interest in fashion design and she pursued it seriously at college in the UK, where she graduated in 2018. In late 2019, Ash applied to Tafe and recently graduated with an advanced diploma in Fashion Design and Merchandising.  Ash's fashion line, Ashley Maria fashion, is focused on diversity and re-representation and aims to spread awareness about worldwide social issues. The collection showcases a high-end streetwear look and uses recycled and reworked denim patterns, as well as bold stencil fonts.  Ash has lived in three different countries, and each has had a significant impact on her and her work. She credits Tafe with helping her to gain the skills and experience she needed to succeed in the fashion industry, and believes that she would not be doing fashion if she had not moved to Perth.
