Bernhard Gal (b. 1971) - an Austrian artist, composer, and musicologist – is known as a creative personality that doesn’t limit himself to just one genre. B. Gal creates instrumental, electro-acoustic compositions and media installations. The latter combine different branches of art and are the experiences of sound, light, objects, video projections and space concepts. Alongside his highly productive creative career (eleven CDs released, worldwide concerts, etc.), B. Gal pursues the profession of a musicologist. However, he admits writing his doctoral thesis for twelve years. Ona Jarmalavičiūtė interviewed the composer about the ups and downs of his career, various creative experiences and philosophy behind his music.
