I first met Dan in 2019 at the Blade West Show in Portland, Oregon. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of his work. He had only been a maker for a couple of years at that point, and his handle shapes and blade geometry were very good for a new maker, and he's only gotten better as one of the pioneers of the B-grind. He has taken compound blade geometry to the next level, and makes some of the highest performing and best cutting knives I've ever used.
