It stimulates brain function and growth of new brain cells, so it shows benefits for memory, executive function, improved cognitive function, decision making and managing stress.

Improved pain management, and with cancer and MS.

Epigenetic effects, meaning that mindfulness changes cellular DNA – I switches off inflammatory genes, and switches on healthy immune genes, slows down ageing etc.

Increased performance and learning for kids in schools.

Increased empathy, compassion, leadership, and emotional intelligence.

New research on mindfulness that has started to indicate that mindfulness can not only prevent Alzheimer’s Disease, but also reverse existing damage of Alzheimer’s – thus indicating that mindfulness plays a role in altering neuroplasticity of the brain.
A discussion on some of the books Dr Hassed has authored including, “New Frontiers in Medicine”, “The Freedom Trap” and “Mindfulness For Life”
