Black Music Month highlights the contributions of African American artists. Alvin Garrett is a Grammy nominated singer and songwriter. The Alabama native has been in the industry for over 20 years as an artist. He has been nominated for a Grammy, Stellar Award, Dove Award and a Soul Train award. He has also written for artists such as Fantasia, Kelly Rowland, Joe, Ruben Studdard, Jordan Knight and gospel artist Detrick Haddon as well as many others. In this interview Alvin tells us about his journey in music and his music influences.
