Jeff Shilanski served as Unit Infantry Leader in the United States Marine Corp for 20 years. He left is hometown of Seminole, Florida immediately after high school and headed to boot camp for the Marines. During is time as Unit Infantry Leader he had tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. After leaving the Marine Corp in 2013, he struggled with anxiety and depression. He nearly lost his struggle with PTSD, but with the help of his fellow veterans and his trusty dog Cupholder, he survived.
Jeff, along with his wife, CarrieRae founded a non-profit organization called FOB Rasor. The mission of FOB Rasor is to provide support to veterans and first responders who suffer from PTSD. After one year of operation, FOB Rasor serves over 60 veterans with a need that continues to grow.
Jeff and CarrieRae have plans to expand FOB Rasor so they can serve as many veterans and first responders as possible. Currently, on average, 22 veterans take their own life each day. They are driven and passionate about reducing this number.
