In this episode, the director of Safe Place, Juraj Lerotic, is our guest on the podcast. The interview offers a wide-ranging discussion, from the director's attention to the film's narrative and visual language to his desire to position the audience in a certain place within the film, his camera usage preferences and the motivation behind shooting the surreal scene at the beginning of the film. The conversation also explores the relationship between form and content of film.  

Safe Place, won several awards last year, including Best Director, Best First Film, and Best Actor at the Locarno Film Festival; Best Film and Best Actor at the Sarajevo Film Festival; and the Young Master Award at the Istanbul Film Festival. The film tells the story of a suicide attempt based on an autobiographical narrative.
