The incidence of mental health issues in the UK is rising incredibly especially among women and young people since the unset of the COVID-19 pandemic. We've now been staying at home for 4-8 weeks and many people have gone through a lot of anxiety stress and fear. Many people are scared of you leaving their houses. Some are scared of talking to people who come to their doors such as postmen. While others are meticulous about cleaning their hands, door handles and so on. There are people who are sick at home but are too scared to go to the hospital because they don't know what they're going to expect when they get there. With the announcement yesterday that we are now all to go back to work if we can this has increased the level of anxiety in the society even more.
Fortunately, I was able to interview a mental health practitioner, Lade Olugbemi the Founder of Nous who was happy to take us through steps to take in order to safeguard our mental health. For more information about mental health issues or to connect with Lade go to https://nousorganisation.com / [email protected]
