Today we are joined by Lauren Gottschalk, a second-generation ocean lifeguard from Los Angeles, California, an ocean lifeguard for 9 years, over a year as a permanent/year-round lifeguard. Lauren is proud to be part of her department’s Marine Technical Search Team, which uses technology such as robots or drones to locate missing swimmers or divers. Lauren’s experience includes management work on wildfires and during the pandemic, took Urban Search and Rescue classes and is trained in Swiftwater Rescue. Lauren holds a Bachelors degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology which means Lauren is very invested in teamwork & group dynamics and today we are thrilled to welcome her onto our podcast to share her story.
