In this episode, David Nakhla interviews OPC missionary deacon to Uganda, Mark Van Essendelft about his life, family and role in the Uganda Mission in Karamoja station. The OPC Uganda Mission in Karamoja labors in the areas of evangelism, church planting, leadership training, village Bible instruction, literature production, literacy training, medical care through the work of Akisyon a Yesu Presbyterian Clinic, community health instruction, and other works of mercy such as the operation of a farm.
Mark shares his experiences in the field, how he uses his gifts in a unique place like Uganda and how godly, diaconal principles apply in serving in the poorest district in Uganda. Mark talks about the "soap ministry" his wife, Carla uses to teach children Bible verses, his entrepreneur class, his encouragements and discouragements, and more about his ministry in this amazing, but challenging place.
