Hans is serving in his first term as State Representative for the 25th District (Puyallup, South Hill, Summit, Midland, Fife, Edgewood, and Milton). He serves on the Transportation, Higher Education, and Capital Budget Committees, and he was appointed to the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee. He is an alternate member of the Community Economic Revitalization Board.
