The Jason Wright Show

Interview with Rick Campbell Episode – 26

Listen Later

Rick Campbell is a true American business
success story. In 1990 he founded Portacool, Inc and introduced the first
generation of portable evaporative coolers. Working tirelessly to grow the
company by getting such organizations as the Dallas Cowboys, the U.S. Olympic
Corporation and scores of others worldwide to adopt the Portacool cooler Rick
grew the company into an Inc. 500 recognized company.

Rick is a 7th generation East Texan who has
resided in his hometown of Center, TX his entire life. It is there he has not
only build businesses from agriculture to manufacturing but he has proven to be
a true community servant. In addition to serving as Shelby County Judge, he has
also served in many other volunteer roles.

He is chairman of the Shelby Savings Bank
Board of Directors, a former member of the Center ISD Board of Trustees, a past
chairman and national trustee of Ducks Unlimited, a Paul Harris Fellow of
Rotary International, and chairman of the Bone Hill Foundation. He also served
as vice chairman of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and has worked as a
volunteer firefighter for 27 years.

This was one of my favorite podcasts with one
of the most colorful guests I’ve ever had on the show. When I asked Rick to be
on the show he said, “I’d love to tell my American Dream story because that’s
exactly what the story of Portacool is.”

I hope you enjoy the story as much as I did. Thanks for listening.
