As Senior Director, Infrastructure Mapping and Development at the Internet Society, he focuses on developing deeper insights into the physical infrastructure underpinning the Internet to unlock meaningful access for all.

He works on Open Data standards for Internet infrastructure, with a particular focus on terrestrial fibre optic networks — a field he has been actively mapping since 2009. An experienced facilitator, his specialties include open source community building, telecommunications policy, and spectrum management.

Working with regulatory authorities internationally to empower locally owned Internet infrastructure, he founded Village Telco, a social enterprise delivering affordable WiFi mesh VoIP technologies to underserved areas.

Previously, he led the ICTs for Development program in Africa at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).
