Dr. Susan MacDonald has been practising Palliative Medicine in St. John’s for more than 20 years. She is a teacher, leader, researcher and clinician renowned for her progressive dedication to providing care for the terminally ill. She has made it her life’s work and purpose to garner respect, understanding and compassion for the dying.

 In addition to her extensive work in medicine, Dr. MacDonald is a gifted fiction writer. She has been shortlisted for the Atlantic Book Award in 2012 and 2016 and was awarded the Gold Medal for the Moonbeam Children’s Award in 2012 for her novel, Edge of Time, and again in 2019 for her novel, Treason’s Edge.
