Lestat’s Kiss Cocktail Recipe

• 4 oz sugar for rim
• 2 oz beet juice for rim
• 2 oz karo syrup, light for rim
• 2 oz pomegranate juice
• 1 1/2 oz bourbon
• 1/2 oz Chambord
• 1/2 lemon, juiced
• 1 tsp maple syrup, or to taste

Instructions for the Vampire-Blood Rim

  1. Combine ingredients in a pan and cook over medium high heat.
  2. Stir and let it come to a slow boil. Turn off heat.
  3. While the mixture is still hot, dunk the top of the cocktail glass into the mixture to create the bloody rim.
  4. Flip the glass right side up until it is done dripping.
  5. Let cool for one hour to harden.

    6. Instructions for the Cocktail

    1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake.
    2. Strain into the prepared cocktail glass.

      A Brief Synopsis: Born as an 18th-century lord, Louis is now a bicentennial vampire, telling his story to an eager biographer. Suicidal after the death of his family, he meets Lestat, a vampire who persuades him to choose immortality over death and become his companion. Eventually, gentle Louis resolves to leave his violent maker, but Lestat guilts him into staying by turning a young girl — whose addition to the “family” breeds even more conflict.
