The Upper Cape Catch

Intimate - Part One: Behind Closed Doors

Listen Later

Domestic violence is happening around the country every few minutes, even in places like Cape Cod. ‘Intimate - an Upper Cape Catch Limited series,' aims to shed light on the often overlooked social problem of intimate partner and domestic violence and abuse.

Upper Cape Catch producer Noelle Annonen sat down with Lysetta Hurge-Putnam, Executive Director of Independence House to talk about the true scope of domestic and intimate partner violence on the Upper Cape, and in seasonal, vacation communities. In Behind Closed Doors, the first part in a limited series on domestic violence, we look at who is vulnerable to victimization and what is being done to help survivors.

For free assistance with domestic or intimate partner violence, call the Independence House 24-hour hotline at 800-439-6507
