The Hogg Foundation seeks to broaden the conversation around mental health to include the perspectives of mental health consumers, defined as people with lived experience of mental health issues who have often been poorly served by the mental health system. To reinforce this commitment, a little over a decade ago the foundation hired its first two consumer and family liaisons, Stephany Bryan and Tammy Heinz. In addition to their valuable work as program officers, Stephany and Tammy work to infuse the consumer perspective into the Hogg Foundation’s work and priorities.
After 10 years, Stephany Bryan and Tammy Heinz are still going strong at the Hogg Foundation. For this episode, we look back at some of the highpoints of their time with the foundation and discuss the connection between consumers and the current effort to transform how communities promote mental health in everyday life.
