Straight from the Roots

Intro

Listen Later

In this inaugural episode, a revamped Straight.from.the.Roots, by host Tree, introduces the podcast's heart and purpose: a platform rooted in truth, resilience, and cultural healing.

Tree will share her own story of banishment, survival, and transformation as a Native woman navigating systems that tried to silence her voice. She'll discuss the meaning behind the podcast’s name, Straight.from.the.Roots, and how the roots of identity, culture, and lived experience shape our understanding of injustice.

In this episode, you’ll hear a brief cover of:

✨ Tree’s personal journey from exclusion to healing

✨ Why stories matter, especially those never told

✨ The intersection of tribal law, community, and lived truth

✨ A call to reclaim voice and narrative in Indigenous communities

Straight.from.the.Roots is more than a podcast; it’s a space for voices that have been marginalized, dismissed, or misunderstood. The first 10 episodes will feature her personal and very real stories from her childhood and the triumphs of her life now. Next season, she'll bring cultural insight, healing perspectives, and intentional dialogue with tribal elders, advocates, therapists, storytellers, and community member's #tribaltruths!

Whether you have lived experience with banishment, cultural displacement, or systemic disregard, or you simply want to understand, listen, and learn, this podcast invites you in with respect, depth, and authenticity.
