In this intro episode, I tell a story of a time I believe God was specifically speaking to me through a song. I also explain what this podcast is about. 

I want the Spirit Body podcast to be a nonjudgemental space where we explore the human experience of spirituality, different spiritual practices, and share uplifting stories of manifestation and answered prayer. 

Now, you might be wondering: Is this a Christian podcast? No? Not really. While I do consider myself a Christian, I think a lot of other Christians would NOT think I’m a Christian. I don’t think you’re going to hell if you disagree with me, and I don’t think you need to believe what I believe. Many times in organized religion we develop an “us and them” style of thinking. WE are good. THEY are bad. OUR God is good. THEIR’S is bad. WE know how to love. THEY don’t know how to love. And I think that’s a very archaic style of thinking.

When I allow myself to be curious instead of judgmental of other people’s spiritual experiences; I find that we have a lot more commonalities than differences.

Now, having said that this isn’t a Christian podcast; there will absolutely be some Christian content. Because I’ve spent so much time as a member of the church, a lot of people I know who have stories of answered prayer that I’d love to share on this podcast are Christian. In fact, part of the reason that I’ve waited almost an entire year to create this podcast is because I kept thinking that it won’t be Christian enough for the Christians, but it will be too Christian for the non-Christians.

So I’ll summarize by saying this: if you’re easily offended or upset when someone believes differently than you, or you feel the need to correct someone if they have a spiritual practice that you think is wrong; this is probably not the podcast for you.

And, like my own spiritual journey, it may change over time. And I think that’s not only okay, but good. If we believe the exact same thing our entire lives, it makes me wonder if we’re really allowing ourselves to grow.
