Starting today and over the next several weeks, you and I are going on a journey through the book of 1st John. In this letter, John tackles a few different topics that were important for the church of his day and I think the more we study this letter, you're going to see how much this letter (and the Bible as a whole) transcends time and speaks to all peoples in all walks of life.

Today, I'm going to just give you the background and 30,000 foot flyover of the letter and this will help us lay the foundation so that when we get into the thick of it next week, we will already have the correct lenses on and be able to see it in context.
