Quotes:
(00:04:34) Everything has to do with the experience of the divorce by either one of the parents or by the children, if there are children. And of course, it can have both positives. I mean, I think most or maybe all the time, you know, it has both positive and negative aspects.
(00:09:31) I kind of wished that my significant other would have an affair so that I would have a real reason to exit.
(00:17:44) But it always runs deeper than that, too. So, for instance, fear of being alone after a divorce, fear of not being able to find another partner after a divorce, whether because the person feels like they're too old or whatever it is. But I mean, there are obviously often fears about the financial repercussions oh, for sure. Of a divorce, which can be very real, of course.
(00:22:50) If you see your parents in a loveless marriage, even though they may or may not argue, they may just be, let's call it roommates, for lack of a better term. I presume that also has an impact on them, too, as to what they should expect in a future relationship.
(00:35:33) A lot of times we internalize these separations and these divorces. As children thinking that you're the one to blame when you're really not. Right? But your parents were people. Your father was a man, your mother was a woman and before that they were children too. And so, they had experiences and they had things that they were building on, and they had struggles and fears and limitations of.
(00:42:26) Often people drag you to escape from what's inside you.
(00:47:59) There are resources and options to help you that fit best for your situation, for your circumstances, for your family, for your finances, and so on and so forth.
