Hello. My name is Brandy & I hope to reach anyone who has struggled with Suicidal thoughts & substance abuse. We are all human and have “bad days” I’ve been using cold water therapy to help me get through moments of Emotional pain and impulse control when I feel overwhelmed, anxious or hopeless. Cold water has changed my life. It doesn’t mean that you’ll always be perfect but it helped me when I feel so low or ready to “use” again. Cold water therapy is free. Basically.... if you have a shower, let that run over your body. It will feel intense but cleanse your body of things you could never imagine. I use it to help build personal mental stamina on a weekly or sometimes daily basis and sometimes I use it to help keep me from making an impulsive choice to change my state by using substances. When I say substances, I’ve personally only abused alcohol, cigarettes and marijuana. I don’t consider marijuana a bad substance, but sometimes I used it to avoid my life. Today’s podcast is about having a rough day and suicide crossed my mind. I was unable to stop crying or get myself to stop thinking about my circumstances. Having been on this planet for 14,308 days and I’d like triple that. We all need to be able to reach out and sometimes I’ve found that a podcast story has helped me. I hope that this helps you.
