A constitution defines what an entity is about, whether that be business, a church, or government. It also serves as a guide for belief and behavior. Those who subscribe to a particular constitution are thought to be faithful members of that institution. Those who refuse to subscribe typically are hostile toward toward it and them who are faithful.
The Book of Romans is the Christian's Constitution, as it clearly outlines what a Christian should believe, as well as put into practice in everyday living.
As is pointed out in the podcast, those who have chosen to study and apply the message to the Christian church in Rome, during the days the Apostle Paul lived, revolutionized their way of thinking about God and life, in general. Revival and reformation for the overall good have often been the result.
That said, this introduction to the Book of Romans includes not only the time and place of Paul's writing, but purpose(s) and key themes that make Romans the greatest theological book in the New Testament.
So, get your Bible out and follow along. You are about to take a journey with Dr. D that, if you are attentive, will be the greatest blessing you have ever experienced as a Christian.
And if you are not a Christian, you will soon discover what it is that Christians believe and what it is that you are missing out on by subscribing to an alternative to the truth.
