It was arguably the worst bad beat of all time. One month to the day before the Supreme Court overturned the federal ban on sports gambling, renowned handicapper and journalist David Malinsky died in a hiking accident near Las Vegas.

But while Dave's untimely passing was a devastating blow to his family, friends and followers, it was their great fortune to witness his contributions to sports betting and beyond before that fateful day.
