For the past three years I've been building a synthesizer out of electronic bits, usually without any circuit board of any kind, just soldering the parts to each other, and enclosing the circuits into tin cans. I wrap the cans in strips of brown paper from shopping bags, using wood glue, and stick the cans together in a frame made of wood from old pallets. It may be the world's most sophisticated and cheaply made synthesizer. There's no way to know for sure. Each week I plug it in and wrangle it to try to get interesting sounds out of it. Join me on my journey!
