Hello I am Nicole Kathryn and welcome the forgotten grief podcast. This podcast will focus around the idea of ambiguous loss. The idea of losing someone psychological or physically but not to death. The idea of grief we experience as humans with little to no closer. Ambiguous loss first was introduced to me in the weird place, with in the series pretty little liars. I was watching the series for the first time through a difficult period in my life where my parents had spilt. A term not often used, ambiguous loss is a long and complicated loss which is uncertain or unknown; usually not openly acknowledged, publicly mourned or socially supported, as there is often no closure or resolution. Those suffering become ‘stuck’ or frozen due to a lack of clarity and compassion – unable to grieve or move forward; forcing them to live uncontrollably in limbo; affecting their health and wellbeing.
