Introduction to Plants Dig Soil

Listen Later

#RealisticRegenAg | Hello! This is Scott Gillespie and welcome to Plants Dig Soil. There is a lot of hype in the regenerative agriculture space right now. My goal in this podcast is to cut through the noise and get to the realistic practices that will work for farmers. The practices have to be profitable and they have to be proven to get past my filters.

The episodes are short and to the point with critical thought put into what is claimed and what is real. I tackle topics such as cover crops, carbon credits, soil health, and new and emerging practices such as relay interseeding cover crops, biological amendments, and how to make it all work in systems that still need some tillage, such as potatoes.

I’m based in the Canadian Prairies and so that is where my expertise lies. However, many of the principles can apply to farming outside of this area and across the world. I have a B.Sc. (Agr.) with an agronomy focus and a M.Sc. with a focus on Plant Science. Beyond my formal education, I have attained, and maintained, my Certified Crop Advisor designation and am a member in good standing with the Alberta Institute of Agrologists.

Subscribe now and check out some of the back catalogue. I’m sure you’ll learn a lot, and with episodes only fifteen minutes long and only once a month, you won’t be overwhelmed with too much information.
