I like to think I'm someone that eats intuitively. But I also think I use a lot of information from tracking macros to, "eat intuitively". And that prior to tracking macros, my "intuition" about what I could and should eat was greatly impacted by things I'd been told or read...even if they weren't quite true.
Does anyone remember when a lot of us were eating nuts to get protein in? I think this is the perfect example of how our eating can be impacted by something we hear. And while i've got nothing against nuts. PB is my jam (lol!). After tracking macros I learned that while nuts do have some protein, they're a better source of healthy fats than protein. Sure I can get 30 grams of protein from peanut butter...but I'm going to have to eat 600-700 calories to do it.
