This month on the Whole-Hearted Eating Podcast we’re diving deep with our guests on the topic of intuitive fitness, and how you can begin to change the way you view exercise away from an all-or-nothing mentality that is always tied to changing the size of your body. Our guests are all non-diet fitness professionals who practice from a body neutral, weight inclusive approach – with the goal of making movement more accessible, flexible, and joyful for all bodies (radical, we know!)

Carolyn Viggh is a Certified Personal Trainer, online content creator, and a body acceptance and anti-diet activist. She believes in taking a weight-neutral, anti-diet approach to fitness that rejects Diet Culture and embraces each individual’s unique needs. She helps people develop a positive relationship with fitness that is rooted in self-compassion, self-care, and self-love. Carolyn specializes in helping people with a history of disordered eating reclaim movement and create health promoting lifestyle changes outside of the toxic and oppressive expectations of diet culture. She believes that all people in all types of bodies deserve to move in ways that feel good, bring joy, and add value to their life.

On today’s episode, we’re chatting about:

What is intuitive fitness?

What does that look like, as a weight-neutral personal trainer when you’re working with clients?

How Carolyn applies the principles of Intuitive Eating to fitness

Repairing your relationship with movement, no matter your athletic or exercise background (or lack thereof!)

How to tune into your body and see whether you ‘should’ work out today or not

Discussing the post:  “Challenge the belief that exercise has to change your appearance to be worthwhile”

How peoples’ relationship with exercise has changed during the pandemic?

Conditional food freedom and exercise

What Carolyn thinks needs to change on social media to make fitness a more inclusive and supportive environment for all bodies
