Invasive Zebra Mussels Are Expanding Westward

Since the 1980s, zebra mussels have starred as one of the main villains for the Midwest Great Lakes area, coating pipes and gunking up shipyard marinas with their prolific appearance. These invasive species have wreaked havoc on the natural environment and cost both the U.S. and Canada billions of dollars to reign in the damages. And here to talk about the strategies for managing this ecological nuisance is Christine Keiner, Chair for the Department of Science, Technology, and Society at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
