French producer Pierre Paumier returns as @jonnnah with his new LP What They Left on Second End Records, a wintry blend of dub techno, bass, ambient, and slowed breakbeat textures. Among its standout moments, “Consume Me” drifts from a foggy dub techno haze into an understated downtempo groove, carrying a subtle trip-hop mood that feels both welcoming and quietly mysterious. 100% Silk is celebrating its 15th anniversary with the upcoming compilation Late Shift Silk. Featuring a slate of new and familiar names, the California label commemorates a decade and a half of sounds that range from chill room dub, pool party house, and rooftop techno.

“Healing Pond” is an oasis lying just beyond the horizon. With dreamy keys and percussion percolating at a gentle simmer, Tile Plazas deliver an intoxicating gem that puts the listener in a mood of peak summer heat waves, where scorching concrete sidewalks mingle with gently swaying palm trees.

Ahead of their 15th anniversary, @100percentsilk have assembled Late Shift Silk, a collection of tracks from a group of mostly new, and some familiar, names to the label. Label favourites such as Charles A.D. and Shine Grooves stand alongside new additions to the roster such as Warden and Dorosoto. The compilation is less a look in the rearview mirror than it is a map of the road ahead. 

Japanese producer @yamaan may be familiar to listeners for a 2020 cassette release on Tokyo’s Dotei Records, as well as lush, ambient leaning hip hop as part of CHIYORI × YAMAAN. They kick off ‘Late Shift Silk’ with “Night Flight”, an appropriately low slung slice of airborne techno navigating smooth, star-filled skies. Yamaan’s sound is perfectly suited for night drives across empty, neon-kissed highways running down endless urban sprawl.

Electro-acoustic composer Renato Fiorito returns with Bastimento, a site-specific work built from field recordings captured along the dramatic coastline of Mount Bulgheria in Italy’s Cilento National Park. Developed as a three-act performance across three distinct coastal locations, the album channels the swelling Mediterranean through narrow inlets and resonant natural chambers, exploring isolation, landscape and the power of place. From the cavernous drift of “Sei Di Nuovo Qui” to the album’s icy, dissolving finale, Bastimento traces three evolving soundworlds that move from warmth to starkness - a mesmerising immersion in sea, space and echo.

One year on from Life Isn’t A Fountain? - the Lex Records EP where archival post-punk was reanimated through meticulous sample-work - the elusive producer U returns with a project that reaches further back and digs far deeper. On ARCHENFIELD, U turns their attention to the Herefordshire borderlands, where English and Welsh histories intermingle and where myth, memory and landscape blur into one another. The album unfolds like auditory time travel: fourteen tracks built from traditional song, home-taped fragments and scraps pulled from television, radio, film and YouTube, all woven into a drifting folkloric reverie.

Rather than simply excavating the past, U examines how stories mutate through retelling, how landscapes carry collective memory, and how folklore persists in the messy ways people inhabit a place. If Life Isn’t A Fountain? channelled Thatcher-era discontent through a cracked post-punk prism, ARCHENFIELD widens the lens to probe the fragile relationship between identity and the rural environments that shape it. Dusty pianos, murmuring drones and spectral voices evoke a modern England increasingly severed from the histories beneath its feet.

To mark the release, U delivers IA MIX 397, a journey through post-punk, new wave and wayward micro-scenes. Mining forgotten corners of their collection, U mirrors the album’s central question: how the remnants of one era can speak powerfully to the uncertainties of another.

Tuxe’s debut EP Cem por Cento (100%) captures an artist shaped by constant movement, blending the distorted basslines and chopped vocals of São Paulo’s queer underground with the tropical rhythms and warm pads of Brazil’s northeast. Written between São Paulo, a Northeast tour, and a run through Europe, the EP feels like an auditory love letter to his journey. Its standout track, “Nada A Pulso,” epitomises this balance between raw and lush, pairing shimmering synths with broken beats, warped basslines, and flickering vocal fragments to create an urgent, percussive energy equally suited to a European basement or a Brazilian beach.
