Ahead of its release, the premiere spotlight falls on Kiss Nuka’s 'Taabiir', a word that translates to “deeper interpretation (of dreams)” in Urdu.

True to its name, the track channels Kiss Nuka's mystical insight and raw emotion through a hypnotic variation of vocal percussion, reminiscent of konakkol, the rhythmic vocal tradition of Carnatic music. Fractured beats move in procession while ghostly tones dance around them, never fully landing. Following our recent news article on Kokong Festival, today we turn our attention to the festival’s inaugural sampler - a curated glimpse into the artists set to perform this weekend inside the iconic geodesic dome at Pub Stallhagen on Åland.

Spanning four tracks, the compilation brings together leading voices from the Nordic electronic music scene: FISK, the analog techno alias of Finnish producer and Elektron product specialist Daniel Troberg; the exploratory textures of Andreas Tilliander and jazz trumpeter Goran Kajfeš; the murky Baltic atmospheres of Havsmörker; and the pulsating club energy of Norwegian techno veteran Mental Overdrive.

Our pick from the sampler is the opening track 'Ilväder' by Scandinavian duo @havsmoorker. Comprising Anton Johansson and Axel Jonsson, the pair fuse field recordings, analogue synthesis, and traditional acoustic instrumentation into immersive folktronica and ambient works. Their sound conjures a sense of sensory navigation - foggy, spatial, and deeply intuitive.

Steeped in atmosphere, Ilväder is both murky and crystalline - a meditative piece that weaves mystical synth lines with effervescent percussion, blending natural elements like flute with earthy, ancient textures. The result is an experimental, downbeat track that gently leans toward the techno spectrum, while remaining rooted in introspection and place.
