Sue Rudnik and her husband of 43 years made the choice early in their marriage to bring healing and hope to children as a home for foster placement. The first foster baby they received was a 19-month-old with down syndrome. He quickly became a part of their family through adoption, and he will be 38-years old this year. Sue and her husband continue to foster to this day, and through experience they recognize the need is great. There was a time when foster care needs for 13,000 children were unmet, and at that same time there were 13,000 churches. As the church, we are supposed to be the hands and feet of Jesus, so Sue encourages the church to step up. While providing foster care will be the hardest thing you ever do, anything we do worthwhile is difficult, and God honors that sacrifice. Child Placing Agencies (CPAs) are private organizations licensed to place children in foster homes or prospective adoptive homes. They work in collaboration with state departments like DCFS and play a crucial role in child welfare.
