Do you remember to the first time you were invited to a school dance or prom? How did that make you feel? It made us feel like we were on top of the world and on top of the world. We have an invitation to become followers of Jesus and just like to school dance we went all in to make sure that everything was perfect. We wanted to make things perfect. Jesus wants to do the same in our lives but through the eyes of humility, powerlessness, minority, and abandonment. Which is the opposite of what the world say we should be. Our society says we should be known by our accomplishments, our power in position, and status quo. See Jesus will perfect his power in us when we focus on things not of this world and become weird as we submit to his teachings and love.
