Iowa Physician Orders for Scope of Treatment

Dr. Bell will discuss: the gaps in health care addressed by the Iowa Physician Orders for Scope of Treatment (IPOST); the history of the IPOST project in the context of the national Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST) paradigm; the principles and practice of completing an IPOST form with a patient and family; and the legal implications of IPOST within Iowa state law.
