After the August storm Drecho with 100 mph winds it was widely estimated that Iowa had lost up to ten million acres of corn. A month later the U.S. Ag Department puts that loss at 555,000 thousand acres or approximately 5% of the original estimate. What happened to all of that missing corn? Are the Feds trying to suppress the price of corn or were the initial estimates of Iowa's corn loss just fake news?
