Only a mother knows the loss of a child. Our Lady knows the great suffering and pain of watching her beloved Son undergo His passion and death. "And thy own soul a sword shall pierce, that, out of many hearts, thoughts may be revealed." (Lk 2:35) For this, she was sad, but even more so for our sins and infidelities.
