iPolitics In Real Time : ‘The Youth’, Ontario and election debates

Mainstreet Research president and CEO Quito Maggi and iPolitics reporter Charlie Pinkerton are joined by former parliamentary assistant and University of Ottawa student Obada Hafez and iPolitics reporter Kady O’Malley just past the halfway mark in the 2019 federal election campaign for a chat that starts on the topic of the Conservatives taking the lead in the polls [01:28].
 
Hafez then shares his thoughts about what young people care about in this election [03:45] before O’Malley talks about what it takes to get youth out to vote [05:10]. The group also discusses whether the federal party leaders’ were impacted by their involvements (or lack thereof) in the global climate strike [07:10].
 
Afterwards, Maggi talks about what matters to Ontario voters [11:45], which O’Malley follows by speaking about Doug Ford’s Boogeyman-like presence in the election [14:00]. Maggi also breaks down the ridings to watch in Ontario [16:10], before the group touches on if the NDP have jumped ship from the province [18:30].
