Newcastle United Women put four past Ipswich Town Women to record their second win of the season, extending their unbeaten run to four games and moving up to sixth in WSL2. A first-half goal from Shania Hayles put the Lasses ahead at the break and set Claire Ditchburn's side up for a dominant second 45 minutes. A second from Hayles was followed by strikes from Molly Pike and a first of the season from Emily Murphy, to secure the three points, although Femke Liefting was denied a clean sheet when Kyra Robertson found the back of the net.
There was also a first appearance of the season for summer signing Jemma Purfield, who came on in added time after an injury-hit start to her life in black and white. In her first game as interim manager, Ditchburn made four changes from United's previous league game, with Elysia Boddy getting her second successive start across all competitions.
