The bargaining between the United States and Iran, whether formally and indirectly in Vienna or elsewhere and through other channels, is evidently approaching its endgame.

The indicators include a waiver on sanctions related to nuclear work in Iranian facilities, reversing a Trump-era policy and serving as a good will gesture on the part of the Biden administration.

U.S. President Joe Biden himself talked with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, in what was obviously a preface to an announcement on a Vienna deal. Following this conversation, in which Biden accepted an invitation to Israel, Bennett’s National Security Advisor flew to Washington for talks with his counterpart.
