New developments out of Iraq reveal both financial

According to Iraqi economic expert Abdul Rahman Al-Mashhadani, salaries for government employees, retirees, and social welfare recipients are secured for the months of March and April. However, questions are now being raised about whether the government will have enough liquidity to continue payments by May.
Iraq reportedly needs around 8 trillion dinars every month to cover salaries, pensions, and social protection programs. With current liquidity pressures, officials say future payments could become challenging unless additional resources are secured.

The Central Bank of Iraq has reportedly expressed its readiness to support the government by lending from its dinar reserves, which are estimated to be no less than 30 trillion dinars. Oil export revenues expected in the coming months could also help stabilize the situation.
At the same time, political developments may soon reshape Iraq’s leadership.
Member of Parliament Mansour Al-Baiji says negotiations are nearing completion to choose the country’s next president. According to parliamentary discussions, the candidate from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is currently the most likely to secure the position.
Officials say resolving the presidential issue could break the political deadlock and allow the next government to form quickly.
