Join CSIS's Burke Chair in Strategy for a discussion with Dr. Munqith Dagher, who will present findings from a major series of public opinion surveys and analyses of Iraqi public opinion on the country's political and social landscape 16 years after the invasion. His presentation covers critical issues like the level of national unity versus polarization and divisions by region, party, ethnicity, and sect. He address level of support for the new government, reactions to the fighting, and goals for the future.

These are critical inputs to U.S. policy in addressing its future relations with a key strategic partner, and in understanding the level of U.S., Iranian, and other outside competition for influence and support in Iraq.

Dr. Dagher is the Chairman of the Al Mustakilla Research Groups (IIACSS), and a leading Iraqi expert on polling and public opinion analysis.

Hosted by Anthony Cordesman, Dr. Cagher's presentation will explore the current Iraqi landscape, what it means for Iraq's immediate future, and the prospects of progress towards near-term stability.

This event was made possible by general support to CSIS.
