This is the continuation of our series on Irish republican history. On this installment, Matt discusses the seminal moment in 20th century Irish history:  The Easter Rising. He starts by reviewing some of the events that pushed radicals to rebel. Then he goes over the psychology and ideals of those that participated in the Rising, and the events of the week in broad strokes, as well as focusing on some more significant battles. Finally, he gives some analysis on the Easter Rising, it’s effect on Irish politics, and it’s legacy today.
