Is 4k gaming worth it?

Listen Later

Is 4k really worth it for gaming? What's up, guys? Welcome back to the podcasts of next generation video games by Nick. Awesome. So what I want to talk to you guys today about is is 4k really worth it? Yeah, I said it. Is 4k actually something that is worth it or is it the gameplay, and I think when it comes down to this is that it's personal preference like 4k is such an awesome thing. If it's done right, it's very crisp. And it's even a little bit a little bit better than 290 P, I just, I've had a p monitors in 4k. And honestly, 4k just wasn't that big of a jump for me. Maybe it's the monitor I have, I don't know. But I feel like 4k just didn't do it for me. And there definitely needs to be some improvement there. To get to that point, maybe 8k will be that jump for me personally. But yeah, I mean, I'd be fine with a 290 p monitor if it was really good. And the colors were really good. So I don't think there's anything and parently great, necessarily about 4k monitors. Because we don't even see 4k as being a standard in gaming, we see those little less 1440 p k monitors which aren't even true 4k. So it's kind of interesting how you haven't even had a full adaption by the PC crowd and 4k. And a lot of that has to do with the graphics cards as of today are not able to keep up with true 4k. So we got to we kind of have to balance that out too. But 4k is definitely the future. However, I don't think it's something that is going to inherently take off until the next generation shows up and is able to perform 4k a little bit better. ps4 Pro kind of brought that into lie in the new Xbox One X and they kind of brought 4k a little bit further into the mainstream, but I don't think we've kind of reached that full fruition of what 4k has potential to be. But personally, I would be fine with 1080 p some of you guys may also be more into gameplay used to kind of see those people who play older games and like give me the gameplay gave me the best gameplay that you can possibly have. And let's go from there. And I totally agree with you guys. Like why not have the best gameplay. Instead of just focusing on the graphics. Sometimes we lose ourselves when we focus on graphics, and we end up with just like a hollow game. That's not something that we'd want to really play anyway. So yeah, why not just play the original Starcraft and be really happy if you like that. I'm not a huge Starcraft fan. But I'm sure there are some PC people out there listening, that are huge Starcraft fans. And when you see these games out there, you want to make sure that you're getting the optimal experience. I think that's the most important thing is for what's your experience? Are you really into gameplay? Do you want to be good at gameplay, maybe someone who's not as good a gameplay would prefer better graphics, you see experience and we all have busy lives for adults, some of us who are listening. And if you're a kid, we all have busy lives. So why would you necessarily? Why don't you want a game that's going to give you the best experience or best gameplay over graphics. Sometimes we get lost in that. I think that can kind of hurt a game if we focus in on graphics too much, or we're gameplay crisis did a really good balance of this, I think and that's why they're gonna release a new crisis, which will be awesome, because it will push the limit. So I can't wait till that comes out in the future. But right now, we're kind of is law between next generation systems. And I think with that, gameplay definitely does play a part because we're used to the graphics technology of today. And no matter what, no matter who you are, you're not going to have the best graphics. Because games haven't reached that point. So we get kind of unlocked by the next gen, we're kind of in this weird bottleneck before we upgrade to the PS five and all those other systems. And that's going to create that bottleneck. And until like streaming services are absolutely awesome fidelity...
