Beloved: Gospel of John
Is Anyone Thirsty
May 26, 2019
Please turn in your Bibles to John 7:1-52
On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” 39 By this He meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. John 7:37-39
1: Is anyone thirsty?
App: In this dry, weary land only Jesus can satisfy
“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.” Psalm 63:1
2: Come to Jesus
“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy
and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price. 2Why do you
spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen
carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
3Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live…Isaiah 55:1-3 NKJV
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life. Revelation 22:17
3: Become a life-giving spring
“…Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty...” John 6:35b
“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:37
